Malmquist Productivity Index versus Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index: Empirical evidence from the Greek Health Sector. Empirical Economics Letters 8(3): 289-296 (EconLit Listed). In common with N. Tzeremes (2009).

Using a sample of firms operating in the Greek health sector, this paper provides empirical evidence and tests the theory of productivity measurement using the Malmquist Productivity Index and Malmquist Total Factor Productivity Index. Under the restriction of constant returns to scale the results obtained indicate that the two indexes produce similar results. However, the differences observed are determining the choice of the index adopted when measuring productivity.
